Of course, Agility training with an Alaskan Malamute can be challenging. If the pace gets slow, they may come off an obstacle and proceed to take a few laps around the field. Of course they know you are embarrassed or disapprove, but they are the center of attention. Other times, they may refuse a jump, looking at you inquisitively, “What does jump mean?” or maybe “Jump this one?” They are very quick at learning an obstacle and they can be quick, but precise consistent performance may be hard to achieve. Unlike other dog breeds, they make sure you know when they are hot & tired; howls or groans, rollovers between jumps or any trick which requires laying down - like playing dead.
